I think we are all pack-rats or hoarders, at heart. It’s in our genes. Our distant ancestors were hunter-gatherers. It was in our own best interests to gather up as much stuff as we could carry and store. We have the brains to organize stuff, remember the stuff we have stored, and think up a multitude of uses for each item. We have the ability to think of potential future uses for an item, so we justify keeping it. I’ve done pretty well in the gathering department – but I have come to the precipice of Too Much Stuff. Time to whittle away at the pile.
